What lawn work do you do?

  • Mowing: regular cuts at the right height, with the clippings taken away
  • Edging: crisp lines between lawn, beds and paths
  • Scarifying: raking out the dead grass and moss that smother the lawn
  • Aerating: opening up hard, packed ground so water and air reach the roots
  • Overseeding: sowing new seed into thin and bare patches

Why does my lawn look thin and patchy?

Lawns go thin for a handful of common reasons: moss and dead grass building up, ground packed hard by feet and furniture, shade, or grass cut too short. On the visit we look at which of these is happening and tell you what the lawn needs before we do any work.

How much does lawn care cost?

Regular mowing is priced per visit and depends on the size of the lawn. Repair work such as scarifying and overseeding is priced as a one-off job. Send photos through the form for a fixed price.

Can lawn care be part of regular visits?

Yes. Most people book lawn mowing as part of garden maintenance, so the beds, hedges and lawn are all looked after on the same visit.

Questions about lawn care

How often should a lawn be mown?

Grass grows fastest in spring and early summer, so most lawns need cutting more often then and less often in autumn and winter. Tell us how you like the lawn to look and we'll set the visits to match.

Do you take the grass clippings away?

Yes. Clippings are collected and taken away with the rest of the green waste.

Can you fix bare patches?

Yes. We rake out the patch, loosen the ground and sow new seed. We'll tell you how to water the new grass while it settles in.
